Warren S. Bellows (1946)

This proud builder founded W.S. Bellows in 1914 and more than 100 years later, a Bellows still sits at its helm. With humble beginnings in Canada, Bellows moved the company first to Kansas, then Oklahoma, before settling in Houston, TX, in 1936 after winning the bid to build the San Jacinto Monument.  Additional notables constructed while this AGC past-president sat in the driver’s seat include the tower at the University of Texas, Austin and the Fondren Library at Rice University in Houston. The company has thrived; much of the Houston skyline can be folded into his proud legacy.
