Albert P. Greensfelder (1931)

Residents of his native St. Louis know well the name Greensfelder, more often these days for the park and other city landmarks that bear his name.  But as construction professionals know – it’s hard work that earns a name such an honor. Greensfelder graduated from Washington University in 1901; much of his career was spent in the employ of Fruin-Colnon Contracting Company. Along this same time, he not only served as the AGC president, but in various officer roles within the American Society of Engineering Contractors and a host of parks-related local organizations in St. Louis – including the St. Louis Regional Planning and Construction Foundation, which he established in 1939.
