John E. Healy II (1971)
John E. Healy II was, like so many AGC members, a legacy in the construction industry. The senior Healy, a carpenter, came to Wilmington from Ireland, eventually founding John E. Healy & Sons in 1891.
His son, AGC’s eventual 1971 president, was a graduate of the University of Delaware’s College of Engineering, first working for DuPont and eventually taking the helm in the family business. In 1989, Healy was awarded the U-Del College of Engineering’s Outstanding Alumni Award for outstanding professional accomplishments and continued involvement with the engineers and contractors of tomorrow.
